Santa Cruz Web Designer
After completing the Web Publishing series of classes at Cabrillo College, I continue my education and connection with web designers through the Santa Cruz Web Developers Group.
I have spent the last 10 years as a small business owner (massage and resort spa owner), as a professional business practices instructor, training with Leadership Santa Cruz, and until my decision to move to Washington, as Vice President of the San Lorenzo Valley Chamber of Commerce.
My clients range from one–person operations out of the home, to medium sized businesses with a staff and storefront. They are mostly local, but also come from out of state. And one travels from place to place, but we easily continue our work together. I am fortunate to have long–term business relationships with my clients, and am grateful for their loyalty. This side shot is in the beautiful gardens where my client, Vicki of Tutta Cermica held her Open House in Autumn 2010. It was quite a magical day, with the lovely gardens enveloping boutiques and art studios.
My goal is to make your website inviting, informative, and easy for your visitors. In our new techie world we get caught up in the marketing, social networking, optimization, and flashy pages—and forget we’re trying to reach real human beings. Your site can have an SEO foundation, and we can add social networking, etc, and still make your clients and visitors come first.
Remember the old days when you felt welcomed into a shop—when it felt like home? Well, they may not be able to physically walk into your website, but let’s make their visit to your site welcoming, so they feel they know you and want to work with you.
A good place to start is to look at examples to see if they are compatible with your taste:

I’m usually immersed in code in my cozy home office in Port Townsend, Washington, on the Olympic Peninsula. I’m fortunate to to live in such a beautiful place, as you can see in the photo of Kah Tai Lagoon near my home.
I recently moved from Santa Cruz, California, my home for 25 years, where I enjoyed working at The Satellite in Felton. My aim is to visit Santa Cruz at least once a year, so I can have the best of both lovely worlds! Note: I am open to a possible trade for private accommodations (web services or house/pet sitting) in the Santa Cruz through La Selva/Aptos areas.
